HTC chairman and CEO Eve Mighty has resigned from the company for personal reasons. He left the company almost a year after taking office. Chavan, the company’s co-founder and chairman, will take over as HTC’s chief executive. He said the resignation of Ibis Mighty was not due to illness or a nine-quarter losing streak.
The ban on international travel due to the COVID-19 crisis has affected the French chief executive. He has not seen his family in Europe for 11 months and the board has accepted Mighty’s resignation, HTC was quoted as saying by Engadget.
During HTC’s mitigation, the company sought to expand the Vive Cosmos headset and create more compact next-generation VR headsets. This year, HTC unveiled its first 5G smartphone, the mid-range HTC U20 5G.I’ves Mighty previously served as executive vice president of French telecommunications company Orange. He became CEO of HTC in September 2019.
